Terms and Conditions of Enrolment

1. Acceptance of Terms
By completing your enrolment and submitting payment for any course offered by Future Intelligence Academy (the Academy), you (the Participant) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not proceed with enrolment.
2. About the Academy
Future Intelligence Academy is a trading name of Data Silkworms Pty Ltd (ABN 23 615 679 724), a company registered in South Australia, Australia. The Academy delivers short professional development courses in the field of Artificial Intelligence for adult learners. Academic instruction is provided by qualified academic partners acting in a personal and professional capacity. Their participation in this course does not represent the views, endorsement, or affiliation of any university or research institution with which they may be associated.
3. Educational Purpose
All course content, materials, lectures, demonstrations, and discussions are provided for general educational and professional development purposes only. Nothing delivered in this course constitutes professional, legal, financial, medical, technical, or investment advice of any kind. Participants are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before applying it in a professional, commercial, or personal context.
4. No Guarantee of Outcomes
The Academy makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, that participation in this course will result in any specific employment outcome, career advancement, business result, revenue, cost saving, or level of AI proficiency. Results will vary depending on individual background, effort, and circumstances beyond the Academy's control.
5. Enrolment and Payment
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment of the applicable course fee. The Academy reserves the right to decline or cancel any enrolment at its discretion, in which case a full refund will be issued. Course fees are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.
6. Refund and Cancellation Policy
6.1 Cancellation by the Academy
If the Academy cancels a course for any reason, the Participant will receive a full refund of the course fee paid, or at the Participant's election, a transfer of enrolment to the next available equivalent course. The Academy will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the Participant as a result of cancellation, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or lost earnings.
6.2 Withdrawal by the Participant
Refunds for Participant-initiated withdrawal are calculated with reference to the first session date of the course, as follows:
•Withdrawal more than 14 days before the first session date: 100% refund of the course fee paid.
•Withdrawal between 7 and 14 days before the first session date (inclusive): 50% refund of the course fee paid.
•Withdrawal less than 7 days before the first session date, or non-attendance without prior notice: no refund will be issued.
Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the Academy via the registered contact email address. The date of receipt of written notice determines which refund tier applies.
6.3 Non-Attendance
Failure to attend any session of the course without prior written notice to the Academy constitutes a no-show. No refund will be issued for non-attendance.
6.4 Partial Attendance
No partial refund is available for a Participant who attends some but not all sessions of the course.
7. Course Delivery and Content
The Academy reserves the right to modify course content, materials, scheduling, venue, and instructors as necessary to maintain quality or respond to unforeseen circumstances. Where a change is material, enrolled Participants will be notified as soon as practicable. Minor adjustments to content, examples, or session timing do not entitle a Participant to a refund.
8. Intellectual Property
All course materials, slides, handouts, exercises, recordings, frameworks, and resources provided by the Academy are the intellectual property of the Academy and its academic partners. These materials are made available solely for the personal, non-commercial learning use of enrolled Participants during the course.
Participants must not:
Download, reproduce, photograph, screen-record, or otherwise copy course materials without prior written consent from the Academy.
Share, distribute, publish, or transmit course materials to any third party.
Use course materials for commercial purposes, including but not limited to training, consulting, or competing educational services.
Course materials are provided for in-class reference only and are not available for download or post-course distribution unless explicitly stated in writing by the Academy.
9. Third-Party Tools and Technology
This course may reference, demonstrate, or encourage engagement with third-party AI tools, platforms, software, and services. The Academy does not endorse, control, warrant, or accept responsibility for the accuracy, availability, security, performance, or terms of use of any third-party tool. Participants use any such tools at their own discretion and risk and are responsible for reviewing and complying with the relevant terms of service of any third-party platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Australian law, the Academy, its directors, employees, academic partners, contractors, and affiliates expressly disclaim all liability for:
Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from participation in the course.
Any loss arising from reliance on course content, materials, or demonstrations.
Any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, any third-party tool referenced in the course.
Any personal injury sustained at the course venue that is not caused by the direct negligence of the Academy.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right the Participant may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
11. Participant Conduct
Participants are expected to engage respectfully and constructively throughout all course sessions. The Academy reserves the right to remove any Participant from the course without refund if their conduct is deemed disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to other Participants or Academy personnel.
12. Privacy
The Academy collects and handles personal information (including name, contact details, and payment information) in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Personal information is collected for the purpose of administering your enrolment and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law or with your consent. For questions about your personal information, contact the Academy at the registered email address.
13. Photography and Recording
The Academy may photograph or record sessions for educational, promotional, or archival purposes. By enrolling, you consent to incidental inclusion in such recordings. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify the Academy in writing prior to the first session date.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
15. Amendments
The Academy reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of enrolment applies to that enrolment. Updated terms will be published on the Academy website.
